Are you getting in your own way?

Have you ever talked yourself out of doing something? Do you sometimes find yourself having a conversation telling yourself all the reasons WHY you can’t do a particular thing?
You reflect over your life, and you haven’t done some things you KNOW you can do because YOU got in the way. Mike & The Mechanics sang, Looking back my shoulder. I can see that look in your eye.
I never dreamed it could be over. I never wanted to say goodbye.

Today is the day you goodbye to the old YOU. You’re saying goodbye to every limitation because these are holding you back. It can be like a poison; it is stopping you from achieving the happiness you want in your life. YOU need to get out of your own way. Chase those dreams and achieve those goals.

Laird Hamilton said, if you get out of your own way. It’s amazing what will come to you.

Say to yourself TODAY I’m getting out of my OWN way. I can do this.

Here are a few things that you can do to get out of your own way and get things done.

Remember why you are doing it or why you want to do it
Knowing why you are doing something is critical to getting it done. What are you going to get from doing this thing? When you don’t feel like doing it, focus on the outcome you’re looking for. Think about how that outcome will make your life better, no matter how big or small the improvement is.

Focus on the important things
Nothing will drain your energy faster than working on or putting off tedious things that won’t move you toward your goal. Focus on the task in hand. Do not compare yourself to others as this can be dangerous. It can stop you in your tracks STOP. Stop that negative self-talk- You will only get so far if you keep talking yourself out.

Find someone to help. Offer support or advice to someone you can help. You’ll feel happy that you have contributed to someone else’s life. And do it because you want to, not for self-gratification

Do not focus on what you CAN NOT control. Try some of these tips today and things done.
An Italian author Dante once said, ‘the secret of getting things done is to act’.
Please free to leave a comment and let me know which tip you will try today.
Plan it. See it anticipate.
