How to be refreshed and renewed

We are now in a new month, a time of the year for, vacation, staycation, I know we all have our different highlights for this season. For some, it’s the opportunity to take a break from hard work and the opportunity to spend time with family/friends. All these are wonderful things to look forward to this season.
Reflect

However, amidst all the fun and enjoyment, we must not forget to ‘Reflect’ on the last months that have gone by. Why? Consider this saying by George Santayana, ‘those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.’ If we are going to do better for the rest of the year, we must reflect on our wins, failures, the lessons we have learnt, things we are grateful for, and so on. This gives us a better chance of appreciating ourselves and the people around us while discovering loopholes in our lives that we need to work on.
Reboot
After self-reflection, we need to reboot. Rebooting involves taking out time to rest. There are many excuses people give for not getting enough rest. You may feel you don’t deserve the rest, or that there are many things to do. However, if you don’t rest, you will eventually break down. And then you won’t be able to do the very things that are keeping you from resting. Allow yourself the chance to rest and build up energy for the rest of the year. Don’t overdo it, of course, but even the most powerful of machines need to reboot.
Re-charge
Then, recharge. There is no point in getting rest if you don’t come back with renewed energy and vigour. You would have just ‘wasted’ your rest. You need new strength to take on new challenges this year. You can get this by actively seeking ways to improve your life. The end goal of recharging is to get enough mental strength to achieve your goals.
After you have reflected, rebooted, and recharged, rewind is not an option. Keep moving forward towards your goals. Be consistent in all that you do. Keep showing up and do something each day that will move you closer to where you want to be. You need to tap into the power of consistency to win. Have an accountability partner. Journal your progress towards your goal one day at a time. I can assure you that you are about to achieve more wins than ever before.

Reflect, reboot and recharge, so that you can be renewed and refreshed.
What are you going to do today so that you can be renewed and refreshed? Let me know in the comments.
